Overview
The Cessna 206H Stationair is a six-seat, fixed-gear, single-engine utility airplane. Its large cabin, high wing, and 300 hp turbocharged Continental engine support personal transport, utility work, and missions that need more payload volume than a four-seat trainer. The Stationair's useful load and cabin arrangement are central to the model's identity.
This record covers a 206H IO-550-T model basis. The actual aircraft's serial range, equipment, seating arrangement, modifications, and current weight record govern its loading and performance. The 206H should not inherit numbers from earlier U206 or turbocharged variants without checking their manuals.
Performance
The source basis lists 145 kt cruise and 730 nm range. These are book values under stated conditions, not a trip forecast. Wind, altitude, temperature, mixture, loading, engine condition, and reserve planning affect the result.
The climb references are VX 61 KIAS for angle and VY 77 KIAS for rate. The large cabin and higher gross weight make density altitude and loading especially relevant to the performance charts. A calculator can support study, but the POH chart for the current aircraft remains the reference.
V-speeds
The model basis lists VNE 176 KIAS, VNO 140 KIAS, and VA 110 KIAS at maximum weight. Maneuvering speed changes with weight. The flap limit for this record is VFE 95 KIAS.
The VX, VY, and VA glossary entries explain the terms. Use the current aircraft placards and POH for operating limitations.
Weight and balance
The stated useful load of 1,474 lb is substantial, but the 92 gal fuel capacity can use a large portion of it. Six seats, full fuel, and full baggage are not automatically compatible. Rear cabin passengers and cargo can affect center of gravity separately from total weight.
Use current empty weight, arms, fuel quantity, occupant weights, and baggage stations in a loading calculation. The weight and balance calculator is for training and reference only.
Training notes
The 206H exposes a pilot to high-wing visibility, a large cabin, turbocharged engine management, and utility-style loading. It can be a useful transition aircraft after a four-seat trainer, but the cabin, fuel, and performance systems require their own checklist discipline. The fixed gear simplifies one system without making the aircraft a generic trainer.
Variants
The U206G and 206H share the Stationair name but not every engine, cabin, or performance value. Turbo Stationair HD aircraft add another engine and documentation basis. Keep separate pages where the variant has a distinct POH and meaningful differences.
Sources
The structured values use the Cessna Model 206H Stationair Pilot's Operating Handbook and FAA Approved Airplane Flight Manual, with configuration context from FAA Type Certificate Data Sheet 3A20. Confirm the applicable revision, serial range, and aircraft records before using any figure.
